HEY GANG!
I need 5 or 6 intermediate drum cover ideas to learn over the next month. August is gonna be "get your butt in gear" month for me. Please help. Don't suggest anything that'll make me wanna quit. I haven't played regularly in a long time. I'll post the songs as I learn them.

These aren't really "covers" considering it's my own music. And they are SUPER simple parts. I recorded every instrument in these songs. It was a super fast process. Nothing was really polished. Just recorded it to have something to share.

Hey guys!
Here's my latest drum cover of Metallica's ONE Metallica simply inspired me to be a musician. I had no other choice but to cover their EPIC track "One" from the 1988 release "...And Justice For All" which happens to be my number 1 album of all time.
your comments are appreciated

Alaa that was awesome man! When I was a kid I saw the video for "One" on Mtv and when Lars played the famous double kick pattern at the bridge I knew then that I wanted to play drums! When I got my first kit I sat down and learned almost every song off of the black album and only a handful off of And Justice For All. That was definitely my roots coming into drumming.
I love the way you added your own fills and and your timing was solid man! My favorite part was the foot camera angle though ha! That brought me back to when I first saw that video. That's what inspired me then and now watching this video at 1:35 am late in the night, I just want to play!
Great job man! I look forward to seeing more.
How did you get the drum track out of the song? I was trying to see if I heard it but it was hard to find it. I didn't know if you used some sort of software or if it is a play along track?

Matt, Thank you so much for your kind words bro. I really appreciate it. I think the very first song I heard with double bass was Metallica's One. I fell in love with drums instantly. The first song I heard for Metallica was "Master of Puppets" I think, and I don't remember liking the song honestly. I thought it was loud and insane, but eventually bought all their stuff and got addicted. Metallica opened up the door for me as a musician and a metalhead. So I kept digging deeper and deeper into all kinds of metal. Til I finally ended up listening to progressive metal, death metal, and hardcore.
I do not use a software to get the drum track out of a song. I google a song I want to cover and if you're lucky you'll find it online. Usually new songs do not have a drumless version, but most probably old stuff usually has one. So when I do my drum cover of a song, if it's on the billboard charts or whatever I try to compose something that would not clash with the song I am covering. You can also find drumless tracks on YouTube. Good luck with that bro, and thanks again!

That's really cool Alaa! Same here! I really got into drumming and exploring heavy music after seeing the video for "One". It was my gateway to other bands like Megadeth, Pantera, Sevendust, etc..
Thanks for the advise! I'm going to look up a few and see what I can get a hold of.
Thanks again Alaa!

This is not a drum cover but a video of a recording session I did last week. The song is titled "All I Am" by the band Traditional City. We recorded this as a demo without using a click track. It was played straight out with just me and Nathan and then we added the other tracks in.

if you didn't feel unstoppable when you grabbed the sticks the first time, you're not a drummer!
