So I was thinking the other day about how most of us on this forum are from different musical backgrounds and wondered how could we share a little piece of that with each other? What would be an easy way to share what you've been working on in practice, at a gig, in the studio, drum line, school band, etc... Audio Tracks! It's as simple as downloading an app to your smart phone or tablet and hitting record! I use www.soundcloud.com and also www.mixcloud.com to upload audio files and it's easy. Think of this as show and tell. Your audio file could be you behind the kit, on a snare drum, a practice pad, auxiliary percussion, or whatever you can come up with just as long as it's percussive based. Tip!
If you are sharing a link from soundcloud or mixcloud look above at the text editor options and find the cloud icon all the way to the right (it's black and orange). Once you click on the icon it will ask for the URL of the sound clip. Enter the URL and click submit. Now you should see your soundcloud or mixcloud player in your post like the one I have posted below. Here is a short clip of me just playing around on my practice pad before my students showed up for our drum class at the local Charter School. It's not perfect and some of my rolls are a little sloppy. I didn't warm up before I recorded this, I just hit the record button on the app and started playing. https%3A//soundcloud.com/mattdudleydrumming/practice-pad-jam-1

if you didn't feel unstoppable when you grabbed the sticks the first time, you're not a drummer!
